Microgen is based in Elland, West Yorkshire. We are an MCS accredited installer of solar photovoltaics (solar electricity generating panels), and are Part P registered with ELECSA, ensuring compliance with the building regulations. All work is carried out by fully qualified, time served engineers, to the 17th edition of BS 7671.

We undertake all types of electrical installation work, design, inspection, testing and commissioning. We also have a wealth of experience with all renewable technologies and energy efficient products and can advise our clients on all aspects of making homes more efficient.

Microgen is keen to promote solar PV systems, with attractive financial incentives available through 'clean energy cash back' also known as the feed in tariff, where you will receive 21p for every unit of electricity your solar system produces. You can also sell surplus electricity back to your supplier and there will be a considerable reduction in the amount of electricity you need to buy from your supplier, therefore lower bills . This is a sound financial investment with an excellent return.

There is no doubt that our energy bills will continue to rise, and every time they do, a solar pv systems payback time and long term investment becomes even more attractive. The feed in tariff is index linked to inflation and so should also rise over time. A solar system will add value to your property, and the feed in tariff stays with the property if you ever sell it.
